(Today is day 2 of my 21-day commitment to pray for the top two Presidential candidates. Here is the original post of this series.)
“Choose my instruction instead of silver,
knowledge rather than choice gold,
for wisdom is more precious than rubies,
and nothing you desire can compare with her.”–Proverbs 8:10-11
Lord, today I pray that you will give them wisdom. May they have wisdom in the way that they treat their spouses and other loved ones. May they have wisdom as they interact with campaign staff and advisers. May they have wisdom in the remaining days prior to the election to articulate their respective visions and policy proposals to the public. May they have wisdom as leaders of their respective political movements to temper their words appropriately. May the winner of the election have wisdom to govern with justice and compassion for all. May the loser of the election have wisdom as to the appropriate way to speak to those who follow him or her in a way that unites the country.
