(Today is day 7 of my 21-day commitment to pray for the top two Presidential candidates. Here is the original post of this series.)
“9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,[a] 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience“–Colossians 1:9-11
Father, today I pray in the spirit of the passage above for Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Trump. First, I pray that in the rest of their campaigns and afterward, they would be filled with the knowledge of Your will. I pray that they would have wisdom and understanding, and that it would be given by a work of Your Spirit. I pray that they will live lives worthy and pleasing to You–lives that would bear the fruit of good works. I pray that they would both grow in the knowledge and understanding of You, and that they will be filled with Your strength. I pray that they would be patient leaders.
