(Today is day 11 of my 21-day commitment to pray for the top two Presidential candidates. Here is the original post of this series.)
“Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”–Matthew 9:35-36
Father, today I am reminded of how often all of us, including Mr. Trump and Mrs. Clinton, are like sheep without a shepherd. Lost. Lonely. Helpless. Harassed. Needy. In their positions, I’m sure it seems difficult–if not impossible–to show their weaknesses and human frailties. I pray that today You would meet both of them right where they are, in the midst of whatever hidden pain and hurts they may be dealing with, and comfort them. I also pray that You would put someone in each of their lives who would show them Christ-like unconditional love.
